Copper is one of the most common non-ferrous metals we handle. It shows up as pipe and tubing, wire, bus bar, sheet, roofing, and old fittings. Homeowners bring it in from plumbing and electrical jobs; contractors bring it by the barrel and the roll-off.
Copper is graded on how clean it is. Bright, clean copper is one thing; copper with solder, paint, fittings, insulation, or corrosion is graded differently. If you can keep the clean copper separate from tubing with brass valves or from insulated wire, that helps. We will sort and grade it with you either way.
Deer Park Recycling is our non-ferrous yard at 54 Kinkel St, Westbury, NY 11590. Every load is weighed and graded in front of the customer. We are family-owned and have done this since 1994.
If you are not sure how a piece grades, or whether an item counts as copper or something attached to it, call (516) 333-6145 or send us a photo before you load it. Pickups and roll-off containers are available across Long Island and all five NYC boroughs.
